Terms

Clear expectations for an honest space.

BS Bucket helps leaders understand what goes wrong at work. These terms cover sharing a story, on the public site or in a team bucket, and creating and running a team bucket.

Last updated 13 October 2026.

1. Purpose of BS Bucket

In short: we collect workplace stories, find the common problems, and turn them into help for managers.

BS Bucket is an independent research and education initiative operated by Veritas Human Edge. It collects workplace experiences, identifies repeated leadership and organisational pressures, and produces insights, training material and tools that help managers lead better. Organisations can also create a team bucket to hear from their own people. How we handle personal information is set out in How privacy works.

2. What this is not

In short: not an emergency service, legal help or a way to report your employer.

  • Not an emergency service. If you or anyone else is in danger, or in crisis, contact emergency services (000 in Australia) or a crisis line.
  • Not legal or professional advice. Nothing published or derived from BS Bucket is legal, health or counselling advice.
  • Not a formal reporting channel. Sharing a story, including in your employer’s team bucket, does not make a complaint, notify HR, a union or a regulator, or start an investigation or grievance.

3. What to leave out

In short: no real names, companies or places, no attacks or secrets, and it really happened.

When you share a story, you agree that:

  • you will not include real names of people, companies or clients, exact locations, dates or other details that identify anyone, including you;
  • you will not submit personal attacks, defamatory statements or hate speech;
  • you will not disclose confidential records, classified material or trade secrets;
  • your story reflects a real workplace situation.

4. How we use your story

In short: we may review, analyse and publish insights drawn from many stories. We don't publish your story word for word, or sell it.

By sharing a story you give Veritas Human Edge a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, review, redact, tag and analyse it, and to publish insights drawn from it together with other stories, such as themes, word counts and educational material, in a form that does not identify any story or person. We do not publish your story word for word and we never sell it. In a team bucket, the licence also covers showing your story to that bucket’s owner and moderators.

The licence ends for a story once it is deleted, except for insights already published from many stories, which cannot be recalled.

5. Removing a story

In short: we can delete a story you quote to us, but we can't tell which story is yours.

We don’t know who wrote any story, so we cannot find your stories for you or confirm that a story is yours. To ask us to remove one, email us and quote enough of it for us to find it. We will delete it if it is on the public site. A story in a team bucket is deleted by our staff when a valid report shows it should go; that bucket’s owner and moderators can reject it but cannot delete it. Deleted stories are removed from word counts; copies may remain in backups for a limited period.

6. Which stories we use

In short: we may edit or remove any story, and don't use stories with names, attacks or spam.

We may accept, redact, classify or reject any story on the public site, without notice. Stories containing personal attacks, spam or identifying details are not used.

7. Creating and running a team bucket

In short: you sign in by email, decide who moderates, and are responsible for how your organisation uses the stories.

If you create a team bucket, or are added to one as a moderator:

  • You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email. We use your email to verify your access and manage the bucket; see How privacy works.
  • You may create the bucket only for an organisation you are allowed to act for. The owner decides who moderates it and can remove moderators.
  • The bucket’s link is how your people reach it. Anyone with the link can share a story, and links can be forwarded, so share it only with your team and keep it off public websites and open group chats. “Private” means the bucket is not listed or searchable and only its moderators read its stories.
  • Moderators can read every story in full with the date and time it arrived, approve or reject stories, download approved stories, and see insights. You must not try to identify who wrote a story, and must not act against anyone because of a story you believe they wrote.
  • You are responsible for your organisation’s use of the stories and insights, including meeting any privacy or workplace law that applies to you.
  • Each bucket has its own plan. Starter is free, one per account, takes up to 50 stories in total, and is deleted, with its stories, 90 days after the bucket is created. Team is paid monthly per bucket, takes up to 1,000 stories a month and adds AI themes; a new Team bucket is paid for before it opens. Enterprise is a custom plan arranged with us. A Starter bucket can be upgraded to Team before its 90 days end.
  • Paid plans are billed through Stripe. You can cancel, or change plans, from the bucket’s Billing page. If a payment stops, or a plan cancelled under Manage payment reaches the end of the month paid for, the bucket keeps its AI for 14 days at up to 50 stories a month, then is deleted unless it is paid for again.
  • An owner can delete the bucket from its Settings at any time. It is deleted at once, and a paid plan stops straight away, with no refund for the rest of the month.
  • When a bucket is deleted, its stories, team, settings and insights are deleted for good, and any paid subscription is cancelled. A bucket closed before this change takes no new stories and is deleted on the date its owners were given, unless it is upgraded or paid for again first.
  • To delete your account, email support@bsbucket.com.
  • We may suspend or remove a bucket that breaks these terms or is used to harm anyone.

8. Reporting a story or a concern

In short: email us to report a story, ask for a review or raise a privacy concern.

If a story identifies or harms someone, you want a decision reviewed, or you have a privacy concern, email us. In a team bucket you can also tell its owner.
